Human Performance Technology (HPT) Model
1. Performance Analysis
The HPT Model is being utilized now to perform a Performance Analysis upon the United People for Peace (UPP!) organization. The United People for Peace organization is an “international peace-building association” and an “emerging 501(c)3 California non-profit organization” whose “Mission is to champion the causes of world peace, youth empowerment and education locally, nationally and internationally.”
UPP! came into existence in February 2012 out of a vision for peace turned into an international partnership for peace-building between Moroccan co-founders Ismael Lotfi and Yahya Bouiramane and YEPP! founder/director Seth D. King.
YEPP! was founded in 2004 and stands for the Youth Empowerment Peace Program. The Youth Empowerment Peace Program (YEPP!) is “an artistic enrichment program which empowers high school students to develop their own character, leadership, and creative self-expression.” YEPP! includes “student Talent Show performance and event production, inspirational and educational guest speakers and entertainers, professional music and dance guest performers, and student travel field trip opportunities.” YEPP! is the core youth within the United People for Peace (UPP!) “soon to be” 501(c)3 California non-profit organization committed to forwarding and building local and world peace.
The problem/challenge is that UPP! is now engaged in a campaign to raise $10,000 by December 20, 2013 in time for the their 6th Semi-Annual UPP! YEPP! HHSA Talent Show at Alliance College-Ready Academy High School #5 in Central Los Angeles, CA. This event is also “A Humanitarian World Peace Benefit for Families in Pakistan.”
The fundraiser for the 6th Talent Show is based initially off of two prior online fundraising campaigns:
1.) A Spring-Summer 2012 YEPP! #3 Indigogo Capital Campaign: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/youth-empowerment-peace-program-yepp-2012-capital-campaign
2.) A Fall-Winter 2013 UPP! Voice for Peace / Hope for Peace in Pakistan campaign: www.youcaring.com/voiceforpeace
a.) Gap & Cause Analysis
The Spring-Summer 2012 YEPP! #3 Indigogo Capital Campaign:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/youth-empowerment-peace-program-yepp-2012-capital-campaign which intended to raise $10,000 for what was YEPP! alone at that time, pre-UPP!, was able to raise a total of only $690.
Thus, the question arises of what caused this gap, and how can it be closed in the present campaign? In the preliminary analysis, the evidence indicates towards the following significant differences between the 2012 YEPP! Capital Campaign and the present 2013 UPP! YEPP! HHSA Pakistan Campaign:
2012 YEPP! Campaign 2013 UPP! YEPP! HHSA Campaign for Pakistan
1.) YEPP! alone for YEPP! UPP! YEPP! & HHSA for Pakistan
2.) Non-profit not started Non-profit paid for & in process via Legal Zoom
3.) Donations NOT tax-deductible Donations NOT tax-deductible (maybe in time)
4.) No UPP! Secretary UPP! Secretary/ Media Expert Sheryll Alexander
5.) Low Budget Campaign video No Campaign specific video yet
6.) No OWDOP One World Declaration of Peace w/ 2370 signers
7.) No Headliner in Capital Campaign Headliners Dance Masters & MC Supernatural
8.) No UPP! BOD UPP! BOD including Dr. Javeri
9.) No Juliette James YEPP! Executive Producer Juliette James
10.) No Moses David from CDS Volunteer Moses David free consulting via CDS
11.) No Journalist Muhammad Khurshid UPP! Director in Pakistan Muhammad Khurshid
& his Voice for Peace organization & his Voice for Peace organization
12.) No 40 school Talent Show LAUSD Beyond the Bell funded expert Jarrod Taylor
Jarrod Taylor partnership to host & produce
So, to analyze the cause of the 2012 campaign performance in order to determine how UPP! is going to overcome this gap to raise the $10,000 for this present campaign, we
need to understand that the present team of people conducting the execution of the 6th Semi-Annual UPP! YEPP! HHSA Talent Show: A Humanitarian World Peace Benefit for Families in Pakistan” is an entirely different one from the one that executed the campaign in 2012 prior to the 3rd YEPP! Talent Show at ACRAHS #5 which was
for the most part, solely completed, by Seth D. King.
From a Human Resources perspective, there is an obvious improvement to UPP!’s chances to raise a greater amount of funds in this campaign with the addition of key leaders including Sheryll Alexander, Juliette James, Jarrod Taylor, Muhammad Khurshid, and Moses David for this current campaign. These individuals appear to have brought UPP! to another level of effectiveness, efficiency and opportunity entirely.
In 2012, YEPP! was raising“$10,000 in a stand for education in Los Angeles” for the 3rd show at that time. The YEPP! Campaign for the 3rd show stated: “Education in California and the entire U.S. is facing record cut backs, layoffs, bigger class sizes, fewer art, music, & enrichment programs, and higher drop-out rates...
http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jul/31/nation/la-na-education-budget-cuts-20110731
Still, do we have the power to make a difference? YEPP!
The Youth Empowerment Peace Program (YEPP!) is an artistic enrichment Talent Show program which empowers high school students to develop their own character, leadership, and creative self-expression.
The 3rd Semi-Annual YEPP! College Ready Academy High School #5 (CRAHS #5) Talent Show is June 15, 2012! Alliance CRAHS ##5 is
near the corner of Western Blvd. & Martin Luther King Blvd. in Central Los Angeles.
Thank you for your support in this campaign to raise $10,000 for this program which impacts the lives of hundreds (and potentially thousands) of urban youth and their families across Los Angeles.”

Thus, the entire mission, vision, purpose and intention for this present campaign is much larger, in that it is a global vision, than it was at that time for the 2012 campaign.
Additionally, the recent Fall-Winter 2013 UPP! Voice for Peace / Hope for Peace in Pakistan campaign www.youcaring.com/voiceforpeace which has raised $678 to empower Pakistani Journalist Muhammad Khurshid in his stand for peace is another model upon which this present 6th Talent Show Campaign is based.
That campaign has raised $678 which has gone to feed, clothe and educate Mr. Khurshid and his 4 children and to keep Muhammad moving forward and
developing we intended in his progress to develop a program for serving his community as UPP! Director of the Bajaur Agency, Pakistan region.
This was what UPP! originally had posted to this Voice for Peace campaign:
"My children are facing hunger, and my wife is feeling pain. Despite it, I believe that your love with humanity's support for peace will bring a better change in my life and the whole world."
Muhammad Khurshid, a journalist and Voice for Peace has earned the support now of the United People for Peace (UPP!), an International Peace Building Organization. Please support Mr. Khurshid in standing up for the cause of peace in Pakistan, Syria, and around the world. Mr. Khurshid lives with his wife and four children in a war zone in Pakistan near the Afghan border. Mr. Khurshid's organization, "Voice For Peace, based in Bajaur Agency, Pakistan, promotes peace and the rule of law while seeking to extinguish violence, corruption, and terrorism. Voice For Peace promotes education and sustainable employment as tools that can deprive terrorists of new recruits, thus helping develop a more peaceful society. Originally founded with a vision of building schools to serve youth, mothers, and others in Pakistan’s neglected tribal areas, the advent of war has spurred
Voice For Peace to expand its mission to help meet the immediate needs of people displaced by systemic violence. Voice For Peace is committed to promoting education, sustainable employment, and the rule of law without resorting to violence in any form. Voice For Peace affirms the innate and equal worth of every human being, and calls on every person and organization throughout the world to acknowledge this essential truth in word and action."
"I have been working on this project for the last several years. Now that UPP! is choosing to align its support with my organization, I will have a greater opportunity to work for peace. I am gaining increased support of my tribe and my people. Up until just recently, they had been keeping their distance as they did not believe that I would be
able to gain international support, but now there is the possibility that I will be able to win election in Pakistan in the future if this support continues. At the moment, I have just broken through in my efforts to find a way to feed my children and remain standing on my own two feet. Thank you so much for your kindness and efforts to forward peace in Pakistan, Syria, the Middle East, and everywhere." -Muhammad Khurshid

The relative success of that campaign brought Sheryll Alexander to UPP! as well as inspired the following Press Release:
Through the combined campaigning efforts of all of the United People for Peace team and through making this website available to Muhammad to share, UPP! has been able to raise this money. As a team, UPP! has estimated that they can raise the type of money that will fulfill upon $10,000 goal for the present campaign.
The intention of the entire campaign must align with the Mission, Vision, Purpose and Scope of the Vision of UPP! https://www.facebook.com/messages/#!/notes/upp-united-people-for-peace/upp-mission-purpose-vision-7-10-2013/426302550788935 as well as the One World.Declaration of Peace.
The One World Declaration of Peace petition at http://www.empower2020.net and its video at http://youtu.be/jgI46vVPYVQ which has presently received 2371 signatures is a community which supports the efforts of UPP! and can be sent an update to solicit them to support this present campaign.
The reason why UPP! does not create this fundraiser for the Philippines, for example, with the recent natural disaster there, for example, is because although for sure that is a worthy cause, “our stand is for peace between people and to forward an end to violence and ongoing military related human-made humanitarian, economic, and environmentally unsustainable resource disasters. Thus, this particular direction for this campaign into the Middle East and with Muslim people living in war-torn areas with U.S. drone intervention was chosen.
We in the United People for Peace support needy people in Pakistan in this new campaign because Pakistani's have to deal with our drones in their skies, and we are committed to a different America than the one that will spend American tax dollars on the machines of war before it will spend it on education, humanitarian aide, job development, community service, and international partnership.
UPP! believes that if you really want to make peace and have a sane world then don't come with drones and force over law, humanity, and integrity through weapons of the
military and mass destruction, don't come to exploit, destroy, and lay waste. Instead come to serve, build, educate, feed, clothe, house, employ and empower. This is the way to peace and sanity for human beings. Not through war without end and ongoing mass killing i.e genocide. United People for Peace stands up to that and will not have that in our name.
The fact of the matter is that the show is December 20th, 2013 and the campaign is not likely to be active until December 4, 2013 at the earliest. Perhaps a smaller campaign total with need to be examined immediately.
